Welcome Letter! 💌

Hi fellow bookworms– welcome to my little book blog! Basically, I just love to read and write. I created this blog as a space to dump my thoughts on all things related to reading and writing. From essays to pointless posts to sharing book aesthetics, this blog will be my creative temple, and I hope this blog will help you gain some cool new perspectives on books, themes, and maybe on life in general? I don't know if I can be that impact... we'll see.

To introduce myself, my name is Jackie and I first started a Bookstagram in April 2022. That's what inspired me to branch further into the online book community and start a blog. My journey with books began at an early age from reading Junie B. Jones in elementary school and obsessing over the Twilight saga in middle school (yes, I'm not proud that I *was* part of that community). My parents are not native English speakers so when I enrolled in elementary school, they had assumed I also struggled with the English language. But growing up with an older brother and sister and being surrounded by the English language, I was fluent in both English and Vietnamese. But, I was put in what was known as ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, now known as EAL (English as an Additional Language) and lots of after school reading. Not that I ever complained– I got pulled out of math lessons to read fun books and write stories. Hindsight... I now suck at math, but I'd say it was worth it. I learned the importance of words, the power of storytelling, and the beauty of language. I found my love for books.
